Connected To The Ocean

I was blessed with a beautiful revelation last night. I live about a quarter mile from the beach as the crow flies. Around 9 p.m., I began to feel a tug, a yearning, a need to go to the beach and put my feet in the water. I acquiesced to my spirit’s calling. The beach was almost deserted, the hour was late. Sitting on the sand near the shore for a while I meditated for a bit which brought my soul a quietness I had missed since arriving back to South Florida from my travels. The waves softly and continuously caressed the coast beckoning me. I stood up and approached the water’s edge and allowed the surf, rushing in and out to caress my feet.  This caused the sand under my feet to shift. Before long I was buried to my ankles. I was once again brought to the awareness of the power of water, particularly when it is consistent.

I was born in Havana, Cuba in the month of November. I was seven months old In June when beach season began for the locals, and my parents introduced me to the sea. According to them, I took to the water like a fish, I literally swam before I walked.

Being a November baby, I was born under the Astrological sign of Scorpio, oddly enough a water sign. Thus the need to be near the ocean has been a driving force in many of my decisions as to the geological region where I would call home. Watching the waves with my feet buried in the sand the revelation that I am approximately 75% water and 0.4%. sodium became real to me. My energy is one with the ocean that relentlessly calls to me.
